You will forever be missed!
Jonathan Scott George was born September 24th 1971 in Monroe Louisiana to Lois and Wayne George. Born an only child his parents raised him to believe that he could do or be anything that he put his mind to. He was raised with lots of cousins, aunts and uncles in his life on an everyday basis that taught him the importance of a strong foundation of family. Not just blood family but anyone that needed a family was always included. This is where his giving heart was formed, and his sense of inclusion that would catapult him into the greatest testament of hard work, and God being in the center of everything. His success in life went far beyond material things. His wisdom in doing life was a pillar for his family and friends to lean on when they needed guidance. He had a knack of knowing what to do and when to do it that was undoubtedly one of his many God given talents.
Scott had a ninth grade education, but that didn’t stop him from being determined to conquer the world and the obstacles that got in his way when his mind was set to something. He started several businesses before the age of twenty and was profitable in the sell of them. His parents saw that he had an entrepreneur soul and in 1994 made him full owner of Ace Roofing. He took Ace roofing from a mom and pop roofing company to a multimillion dollar commercial roofing company that is now called Ace Roofing Inc. Even after his passing, the systems that he put in place has allowed Ace Roofing to continue to grow every year, and they pay homage to the path that he made for this growth and the continued growth in the future.
He was married in 1993 to Carmon Morris George and they had a daughter Anna George Hoefer in 1995 who is now the sitting president of Ace Roofing Inc. Scott was not just a father and husband to his family but took his roll very seriously. He took advantage of every teachable moment to fortify their family values and to prepare them unknowingly to do life without him. Giving was the main core to their family and everything else was secondary. He along with his wife have been known to give away automobiles, catch peoples mortgages up to stop foreclosure, pay medical bills, buy groceries, and head up building funds for their local church by not only giving monetarily but also coordinating the building process and saw it through to the end. There was no particular passion that struck their interest. When they saw a need and felt to give, they gave generously.
Scott passed away December 22, 2020, but through the JSG Foundation his spirit will live on for future generations. His legacy will be carried out by his family and friends to keep his spirit alive. Their intentions are to host one large event a year to raise money for other causes in Acadiana. They’re hope is to be a pillar in the Acadiana Community, and to unit people with a cause that is bigger than themselves and to show God’s love to every people race and creed.
